Pre-book a space in Swedavia's affordably priced long-term car parks. Please note that the buses to and from the P2 Beta and P3 Alfa car park stop at Terminal 4. The walk to Terminal 5 then takes about 7 minutes. Then the buses stop at Terminal 2 and 3.

Charge your electric car or plug-in hybrid at the airport - here's how

Start by downloading the Virta app from Google Play or the App Store, or sign up via this site.

1. Select the country where you will primarily charge your vehicle. 
2. Agree to the Service, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and make selections regarding consent to marketing information.
3. Enter the required personal information and order a charging tag if needed. 
4. Register your card details to pay for the charging service.
5. Confirmation will then be sent to the specified email address.

There is also the option of card payment, one-time payments. Refer to the charging station for more information.

How to park

  1. Take a ticket at the entrance gate.
  2. Choose any space or choose a space marked for parking for people with reduced mobility.
  3. Take the ticket and your parking permit for registration at the Arlanda information desks in Terminals 2 or 5.
  4. Before exiting, pay at the exit gate or at any self-service payment machine. You can only pay by credit/debit card, not in cash.

Please note that your permit does not need to be placed in the vehicle once it has been registered. The permit may be taken with you on your trip.

If you park outside of regular hours, you should press the button at the entrance and register the date you return home. After that, you can stamp your ticket when you return home at one of the information desks.

Motorcycle parking

There are parking places at Arlanda for those of you with a motorcycle. Marked motorcycle parking is available under a roof outside SkyCity and outside Terminal 2.

Bicycle parking

Free bicycle parking is available next to the terminals and at SkyCity


Key service for vehicles

Drop your car key off for safekeeping while you are on your trip. You can leave your car key at the customer service desk for parking in Terminal 5, floor 1.

When you park, make a note of where, in what area and what row number, you parked your car.

Jump-start help

At Stockholm Arlanda Airport you can get help jump-starting your car if your battery has died at no charge. Jump-start service is available around the clock 365 days a year. For insurance liability reasons, you must connect the cables to your car yourself.
Jump-start service is not available for electric or hybrid cars.

How to pre-book
Enter the date and time of entry and exit as well as any campaign code. The system will show you which parking areas and services you can choose from.

Continue to payment and enter your personal data and payment details. Once you have booked, you will receive confirmation by e-mail.

Frequently asked questions

I have pre-booked but took a ticket at the entrence, what do I do?

When leaving the parking lot, contace customer service via the intercom at the exit and they will help let you out after checking your booking. Do not pay with the ticket you took at the entrence.


How far in advance of my planned entry can I book parking?

Usually about 12 months, but that may vary depending on how we set up our campaigns.


Can I book on short notice?

You cannot book parking if you plan to arrive at the parking lot within 1 hour.


Do I have to come at the exact time I entered for the parking space I booked?

In order for the system to reserve a space, a time must be entered for both entry and exit. You can arrive at the car park you booked up to 2 hours before the time you entered in your booking and exit up to 3 hours after the exit time you entered. You do not need to pay extra or change your booking if you stay within this timeframe.


What happens if I park too soon or leave too late?

The regular daily price for the area will be charged when you park too soon or leave too late. You will be charged when you exit the parking area.


Can I extend my parking if it has already begun?

No, you can’t. You pay the amount exceeding the prepaid total when you exit.


How long can I park my car?

The maximum parking time may vary by season and product but is never more than 90 days no matter whether you prebooked or not. The shortest parking time when prebooking is 24 hours.  


What does it cost if I return home later than I indicated when I booked my parking?

If you exceed the prebooked parking time, an additional fee up to the maximum normal hourly or daily fee is charged. You pay the additional fee using your card at the car park exit gate.


When pre-booking, do I get a specific parking space?

No, you will not get assigned a specific parking space. Some of our parking lots have certain parking spaces are reserved for special parking needs, and these are clearly marked with signs. Besides these spaces, you are welcome to park in any parking space.


How do I find the parking lot?

If you have pre-booked your parking, you'll find a link in your booking confirmation. There you'll find directions as well as GPS coordinates to your pre-booked parking.

Can I charge my car in the airport car parks?

Yes, under All car parks there is information on each car park if it is possible to charge the car in the car park.


Does it cost anything to charge the car?

You pay a start-up fee and for the actual kWh you charge your car with. Create your recharge account on our partner Virta's site.


Pre-book parking

Do I have to book my parking?

No, you can also come here and select a parking space in an area where there is space available. However, special campaign prices are only available to people who have booked in advance on-line. With a booked space, you are guaranteed parking in the area you selected.


When are the parking areas open?

Our parking areas and Customer Service are open every day, around the clock.


How do I know that my booking has been completed?

A booking confirmation has been sent to the given e-mail address.


Can I cancel or rebook my parking?

Your booking can be cancelled at no charge up to 2 hours before your booked entry time. No money is refunded for a late cancellation or for unused parking time. You can rebook up to 2 hours before your booked entry time.

What credit cards can I use to pre-book?

You can pay with American Express, Mastercard and Visa.


How do I pay for my pre-booked parking?

You pay when you book your parking.


How do I pay if I do not have pre-booked parking?

With a ticket

Take a ticket at the gate before you enter. Drive in and park. Save the ticket – you then pay before you exit at an automated machine in the terminal. You can also pay by credit/debit card at the car park exit gate.

By card

Register your parking using a credit/debit card right at the gate before you enter. You then pay with your card when you exit the car park, at the exit gate.

Contactless payment

Is your credit/debit card approved for contactless payment via Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay? Then you can pay by tapping your card and drive in and out of the car park with a tap. You can also drive in by taking a ticket and then pay for the ticket with a tap at an automated machine or at the exit gate.


Can I get a receipt afterwards?

Your booking confirmation is your receipt. If you didn't save it, contact customer service at 010-109 68 00 or parkering@swedavia.se and they'll help you.


I paid at the exit even though I had pre-booked, what do I do now?

Contact our customer service at 010-109 68 00 or by e-mail and they will help you. You can also fill in the form and send it to parking@swedavia.se.


Entry and exit

What do I do when I get to my parking area?

At the entrance

  • Check to make sure you have come to the right parking area, that is, the area you booked.
  • Drive up to the road gate and wait while the system reads and identifies your vehicle registration number. Your booking is identified, an entry ticket is automatically printed and the gate goes up.
  • Do not press the button to get a ticket after the system has identified your registration number.

At the exit

  • Drive up to the exit gate. 
  • A camera reads your vehicle registration number.
  • Wait until the gate goes up.

Should this not work, please press the button with the telephone symbol and wait for assistance. We are staffed around the clock in order to help you.

Parking at P57 Express outdoor

If you have booked at P57 Express outdoor you use the QR code on your confirmation to identify your order.

At the entrance

  • Drive up to the entrance gate of the car park you booked
  • Have your confirmation e-mail with the QR code ready. Hold the QR code up to the QR reader
  • Your booking is checked and the gate will open

At the exit

  • Drive up to the exit gate.
  • Read the QR code with the QR reader
  • The gate will open

What do I do if I have booked parking but the sign at the entrance indicates the area is full when I arrive?

If you have booked a space, then you always have access to the parking area you booked, even if the area is full for other people who want to park.


What happens if I park in the wrong area?

Then you are charged the regular price for the area you parked in. So you should be very careful about checking that you are in the right parking area. Feel free to contact Customer Service using the intercom at the entrance to confirm that you have come to the parking area you booked. Then give the name of the parking area you booked a space in.


Can I leave the parking lot and then drive back in?

No, your booking is only made for one continuous parking. You cannot leave the parking lot and then drive back again on the same booking. Once you leave the parking lot your booking ends.


Booking information

Is there VAT information on my booking confirmation?

Information for accounting purposes and VAT is included in the booking confirmation. If you do not have a confirmation or need more information, you can contact customer service at +46 (0)10-109 68 00 or parkering@swedavia.se.


Parking for people with reduced mobility

Can I book a parking space for people with reduced mobility?

No, people who have a parking permit for reduced mobility have an opportunity to park near the terminal.

How safe are Swedavia´s parking lots?

All parking lots are checked by security guards around the clock. Furthermore, Swedvia employees move about the parking lots daily.

Between 04.00-09.00 and 12.00-19.00, the bus departs every 10 minutes. Between 19.00-01.00 and 09.00-12.00 the bus departs every 12 minutes with the exception between 01.00-04.00 when the bus departs every 15 minutes.

The transfer bus between the long term parking lot and the terminals is free of charge.

You can take bus Swedavia P3 Alfa Long term parking. The bus route is as follows: Parking P3 Alfa, Radisson Blu Arlandia, Jumbo Stay, Terminal 4, Terminal 2 and 3, Parking P3 Alfa.

The bus departs every 15 minutes between 04.00-01.00. Between 01.00-04.00, the bus will depart every 20 minutes.

Are there no bus stops at Terminal 5?

No due to the expansion of Terminal 5, with for instance a new security control, there are no longer any bus stops at Terminal 5. If you are flying from or landing at Terminal 5, take the bus to/from Terminal 4.


How long is the walk from the bus stop at Terminal 4 to Terminal 5?

It takes approximately 5-7 minutes to walk from the bus stop at Terminal 4 to Terminal 5. The walk is indoors via SkyCity.
